It is one of the plants present in the biblical Garden and one of the first plants that was cultivated by people (from 9400–9200 BC). Figs were a common food source for the Romans. It was cultivated from Asia to Europe. It is strong trees and survived – 18°C some years ago, but prefer a more temperate climate. It produces twice a year fruits (spring and summer).
