Touch of history
It is a small monastery of Mordano, Italy was built more 1000 years ago by the Benedictine monks in honor of St. Anastasio. It was mentioned in documents of Pope Eugene III in 1145. In January 1177 Frederick I Barbarossa visited this place. Then Benedictine left it, probably because of frequent floods. In 1478 Franciscans rebuilt the complex, but it is not used as a monastery. It was the propriety of Catherine Sforza, then the church. From 1635 by the order of Pope Innocent X, there remained only the Church of St. Frančisko, which courted one priest. Now it’s closed.
