Centuries of life

Wandering through the Apennines I accidentally hit in this extraordinary place. The Pieve  Sant ‘ Andrea, Italy. The Castle was built in 1184. The owners were Alidosi,  Duke of Milan and many others. In 1426  the Castle came into the possession of the Church, then to the Visconti. The owners changed often and in 1503 Papa Giulio won Romagna and the Castle finally turned to the Church. In 1945, during the second world war, the castle was destroyed, the archive too. Since 1911 it is the national monument. The Church was restored and the Pearl of Appenine has become a residential centre. Place of residence has 15 people and some apartments are selling. Very nice place that time is not cut from the face of the Earth.IMG_4293
